The Farmhouse
St Michaels was built in the early 1800s and reminds one of more relaxed times. The exterior is of fine Ludgvan granite probably from the local Castle an Dinas quarry. This along with the cast iron Cornish range in the kitchen, and the carved fireplace mantle in the lounge, tell of an era when care and craftmanship were important.
Lounge/Conservatory
Wild flowers and stoneware pots adorn the slate hearth; this is a house to relax in, from the large Victorian style conservatory with its wicker chairs and additional dining to the lofty spacious lounge with comfortable seating. Here you can enjoy a light read from the extensive library or some 21st century entertainment from the DVD collection, freeview and broadband internet access.
Quality furnishings and specialist interior design are reflected throughout with many original paintings and prints for the guests to enjoy or purchase.
Kitchen/Dining Room
This has a real farm-house feel with beamed ceilings, granite inglenook and old Cornish range - a chef's delight with a well designed work area, marble⁄polished granite surfaces and purpose made beech units housing the latest appliances (dishwasher, refrigerator, ceramic hob, electric oven and microwave). It is well stocked with utensils and crockery for a large family.
The dining area is raised giving the two circular tables views over the garden and bay and can seat 10 people comfortably. There is additional dining in the conservatory.
Utility room
Leading off the kitchen and stretching across the back of the house (entered directly from the garage) is a large utility room housing washing machine, freezer and additional refrigerator; a good place to store large items such as surf boards or bicycles, or for the children to play. A shower room⁄toilet with under-floor heating is a useful addition when large numbers are staying.
Outside
A large private landscaped lawned garden provides ample space to relax or for children to play; there is some outdoor play furniture for younger children, a selection of games and a covered sand pit, also a gas BBQ, tree seat and arbour plus additional seating for alfresco dining.
